Karen O’Connor RYT500 was introduced to the Satyananda Yoga practice at a young age by her family in Australia. Since then her yoga practice and teachings have taken her on a journey all over the world. For the past ten years Karen has been honored to teach in the Sacred Valley of Peru, Canada, California and in Costa Rica where she resides today.
Dedicated to living the yogic life and the surf life, Karen teaches full time in various studios, ashrams, retreat centers, and yoga teacher trainings. With over 1000 hrs in trainings, she teaches a variety of classes from Vinyasa Flow to Hatha and Yin. Karen continues to grow through self study and a deep study with fellow yoga teachers, spiritual leaders, and spiritual communities across the globe.
A devotion to share the spiritual teachings of Peru and the Bhakti of yoga shines through Karen’s classes and teachings. After studying Yin yoga with Bernie Clark and Kali Durga, Karen found a new passion in Yin. She truly believes in the benefits of the practice of Yin yoga, and she is dedicated to helping others integrate Yin principles of yoga into their daily lives.
Karen has immense gratitude for all her teachers and guides, past and present, who have shared their wisdom with her. These teachers have inspired Karen to create a playful and heart-focused yoga practice as well as a positive outlook on life. Karen is blessed and honored to hold space and share with others the heart of yoga. She is excited to bring this awareness of yoga and wisdom to your practice.
