Spring In Bloom

 In Seasons

We are fully in the midst of Spring! Flowers are blooming, birds are singing and we are enjoying the seasonal energy that this time of year brings. As the winter stagnation clears and the days become longer, we feel layers peeling away to reveal an inner light that is ready to shine in its full radiance. We invite in these three practices to cultivate a sense of lightness, freedom and joy. May these practices assist with your own awakening as you blossom into your full potential.

Mantra Meditation – OM Mani Padme Hum

Often translated as ‘The Jewel is Within the Lotus’, this mantra is believed to connect you with your innately loving and compassionate nature. When we chant this mantra, we are invoking the energy and spirit of the heart.

Benefits of chanting this mantra:

  • Clears the mind
  • Releases self limiting beliefs
  • Purifies the heart
  • Invokes feelings of Unity

Find a meditative space and come to a comfortable-tall seat. Take a moment to fully connect with your breath. Verbally or Silently chant “Om Mani Padme Hum.”  If you have Mala beads you can chant one Mantra for each bead for a total of 108 rounds.

Yoga Nidra Practice

Yoga Nidra or the yoga of sleep is a systematic meditation that takes you through the Pancha Maya Kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of wholeness.

Yoga nidra offers a space to release long-held emotions and can serve as a pathway to freedom. Enjoy this deeply nourishing practice and reveal the jewel within the lotus!

Lotus Mudra Meditation

Mudras are gestures or seals that help direct the flow of energy in the body. The lotus blossom represents a heart opening. The lotus flower blooms on the surface of water, with its roots deep below in mud—making it a symbol of light and beauty emerging from darkness. As you practice this mudra, feel connected to your roots, and remember that the greatest source of steadiness in life is an awakened heart.

Imagine filling up this lotus with eternal love for yourself. Use this mudra to seal in this love…shifting energy away from the mind and into the heart…a peaceful place to reside through your meditation. Practice Metta (loving kindness) meditation to assist in your own heart’s awakening.
